Need a boost in spirit? Join people who love Spartanburg in a noisy, grassroots “community pep rally” to honor all of us who care about our city and work to make it a better place to live and work.
This light-hearted and wholly disorganized rally is an effort to show solidarity and reinvigorate our sense of community in a time that has been hard on folks at every level. Bring your noisemakers—cowbells, drums, kazoos, or horns—and come together at the base of the Daniel Morgan statue to announce that we are undeterred and that we love our city!
Take part by climbing atop a soapbox for an impromptu 60-second open microphone to tell the world (or at least everyone in Morgan Square) why you chose to “Show up for Spartanburg!” Or just come to pat your fellow Spartanburger on the back and say, “Thanks for hanging in there, pal.”
Let’s all renew our commitment to the place we have chosen to call home and remind our neighbors that we are not alone as we work through these challenges. We’ll all leave this event with a greater sense of community spirit.
This event is brought to you by the Show up for Spartanburg Guerilla Optimism Team. If you would like to like to sing the praises of Spartanburg at this event please show up between 5:00-5:30 and sign in.
